After years of working with stone as part of Depression-era building projects, Fred and Nonnie settled down to start a family in Stanleyville, North Carolina. From supplying and installing stone on homes and businesses in the surrounding areas, to creating memorials for loved ones, Fred and Nonnie built a business out of love and hard work, that has stood the test of time. Their youngest child, Frederick S. Cooke "Steve" and his wife Beverlie, would go on to run the family business after graduating from Appalachian State University. They would be blessed to support their family of 6 with hard work and determination. You can find Steve's craftsmanship and Beverlie's custom art designs in cemeteries from Virginia to South Carolina. These days, you will find their youngest daughter, Mary-Martha Evtimov, and her son, Nicholas, running this fourth-generation business. "I feel a responsibility to preserve the legacy that began with my grandparents so long ago. I grew up watching my father work long, hard hours. He always took the extra time to make sure the job was done right, and that had a lasting impression on me." After graduating from UNC-Chapel Hill, Mary-Martha lived in Europe for 12 years where she began a family. In 2011, when her youngest child was an infant, she returned to the King - Rural Hall -Winston Salem area, and started working with her father. Together, they have been able to grow their stone business. Mary-Martha specializes in custom memorials, uniquely sculpted monuments, and amazing etchings that capture an individual's essence. "A monument is often the last thing a family can do for their loved one, it will be an enduring symbol, for generations to come. We make sure it is done right!"
